They are beautifully crafted from classic oak wood, with a rattan inset seat, and originate from the Shanxi Province, where the finest furniture was made during the Qing Dynasty. Each chair is carved in the style of a Southern Official's Hat Chair with a central splat featuring a dragon below a ruyi-shaped medallion.
The chairs are in good used condition, with wear show age consistent with the early to mid 19th century.
