It is made of oak and is unpainted. The shelf is supported by 2 corbels with beaded molding. There are fluted columns below the corbels.
The breast has an applied carved molding from end to end. Overall it is 65.5 inches wide by 46.75 tall and 12 deep. The opening is 35.75 inches wide by 34.5 tall. Overall, it is in good condition. Scratches and dings as it is antique.
It could use a good cleaning. The right side mounting board is missing, its just a 5 inch wide piece of oak.The molding around the firebox is painted, I don't think it is original. There is some paint along the back of the shelf where it met the wall. Please look at the pictures carefully. Please inquire with your zip code and I will get you a quote quickly. I describe all my items as accurately as possible with descriptions and often pictures of any damage.
I try to measure within 1/8 of an inch. My salvage business was born of necessity in 1993 when I started restoring an old Victorian home that had seen better days. I needed doors, staircase parts, fireplace mantles and more, so I contacted the owners of a few local buildings that were scheduled for demolition. 17 years later this is still my full time job!
I salvage whatever I can think can be reused as long as there is room in my warehouse. The warehouse is open for treasure hunting anytime by appointment. Just contact me to schedule a day and time!
